01 / In practice
Working with Emil.
Emil builds and tests energy models. Ask how a change in demand affects the network, or how a dry year affects the result. He checks the data and assumptions, runs the model and shows what changed.
Demand by sector and subsector
Start with annual demand in buildings, transport or industry, then calculate hourly demand. If the share of electric vehicles changes, Emil can update the demand used by the model.
Supply, storage and networks
Model generation, storage and networks together. Use a broad system view or individual assets and nodes, depending on the study.
Geography and climate
Set the study area on the map and compare climate years. Weather affects renewable generation, hydro output and demand.
Adapt a model to the study
We are developing tools to extract part of a larger model, change its detail or time horizon, and add another resource. Keep the original model and assumptions for comparison.
Analysis and model runs
Compare a new scenario with the original and check the results before running another case. Record the data and model version used.
How does higher demand affect the network in different climate years?
